The entire application is online — candidates register on the official portal, fill the form, upload documents, pay the fee online, and download the confirmation. Follow the numbered steps below carefully, because once submitted most fields cannot be edited.
The Last Date to Apply for this application is 10 Jun 2026. We strongly recommend completing the application at least 2-3 days before the deadline — the official portal usually sees heavy load on the last day, and payment-gateway timeouts in the final hours can cause submissions to fail.

Candidates must clear each stage to be eligible for the next, and the final merit list is prepared on the combined performance across all stages. Preparation tips
1Thoroughly study NCERT textbooks for Classes 1–8 relevant to your chosen paper, as many questions are based on them.
2Focus on Child Development & Pedagogy — it carries 30 marks in both papers and is often the differentiating section.
3Practise previous years' CTET question papers to understand the difficulty level and MCQ pattern.
4Improve your command over both Language I and Language II (typically Hindi and English), as they together carry 60 marks per paper.
5Since there is no negative marking, attempt all 150 questions within the 2.5-hour window.
The deadline to submit your online application and complete fee payment is 10 June 2026 by 11:59 PM.
The exam is scheduled for 06 September 2026 (Sunday). If registrations are very high, an additional date of 05 September 2026 may also be used.
General and OBC-NCL candidates pay ₹1,000 for one paper and ₹1,200 for both papers. SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates pay ₹500 for one paper and ₹600 for both.
Paper I requires Senior Secondary (10+2) plus D.El.Ed or B.El.Ed. Paper II requires a Graduation degree plus B.Ed or equivalent teacher training qualification.
No age limit has been specified for the CTET September 2026 examination.
The examination will be held across 132 cities throughout India in 27 languages. Candidates cannot choose their exam city; CBSE will allocate the centre automatically.
The hall ticket / admit card will be made available on ctet.nic.in approximately two days before the exam date.
Applications are accepted exclusively through the official CTET portal at ctet.nic.in. There is no offline application mode.
