How to apply
The entire application is online — candidates register on the official portal, fill the form, upload documents, pay the fee online, and download the confirmation. Follow the numbered steps below carefully, because once submitted most fields cannot be edited.
The Last Date to Apply Online for this application is 22 Jun 2026. We strongly recommend completing the application at least 2-3 days before the deadline — the official portal usually sees heavy load on the last day, and payment-gateway timeouts in the final hours can cause submissions to fail.

Selection process
The selection process is conducted in 5 stages: Tier-1: Computer Based Examination (Objective Multiple Choice), Tier-2: Computer Based Examination (Descriptive / Objective, multi-paper), Document Verification (DV), Medical Examination (for select posts) and Final Merit List & Appointment. Candidates must clear each stage to be eligible for the next, and the final merit list is prepared on the combined performance across all stages. Detailed marking schemes, qualifying cut-offs, and any tie-breaker rules are listed in the official notification linked above.

Preparation tips
1Master quantitative aptitude fundamentals — arithmetic, algebra, and geometry — as this section is high-scoring and frequently decisive in Tier-1 cut-offs.
2Read a quality English newspaper daily to strengthen reading comprehension and vocabulary for the English sections in both tiers.
3Revise current affairs and static GK (history, geography, polity, economics, science) consistently; General Awareness requires broad but not deep coverage.
4Practise previous years' SSC CGL Tier-1 papers under timed conditions to build speed and accuracy while minimising negative marking.
5If targeting JSO or Statistical Investigator posts, give extra time to Statistics and ensure you clear the Tier-2 Paper-2 syllabus thoroughly.
The online application window for SSC CGL 2026 closes on 22 June 2026 at 11:00 PM. Submit your form well before this deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.
Approximately 12,256 tentative vacancies have been announced across Group B and Group C posts at Pay Levels 4 to 8. The exact post-wise and category-wise breakup will be published on the SSC website during the application period.
A Bachelor's degree from a recognised university in any discipline is the basic requirement. A few posts — Junior Statistical Officer and Statistical Investigator Grade-II — require specific subjects at graduation or 12th level.
The age limit varies by post and is calculated as on 01 August 2026. Most posts require candidates to be between 18 and 30 years. Some posts allow 18-27 or 20-30 years, while the Junior Statistical Officer post allows up to 32 years. Standard age relaxation applies for reserved categories.
Male candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories must pay a fee of ₹100. Female candidates and candidates from SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen categories are fully exempted from the fee.
Selection involves a Tier-1 Computer Based Test followed by a Tier-2 Computer Based Test. Shortlisted candidates then go through Document Verification and, for certain posts, a Medical Examination before final appointment.
The pay band ranges from ₹25,500 per month for Level-4 posts to ₹1,51,100 per month for Level-8 posts under the 7th CPC. Including Dearness Allowance, HRA, and Transport Allowance, the estimated in-hand monthly salary ranges from approximately ₹35,000 to ₹80,000 depending on the post and city of posting.
Applications must be submitted only through the official SSC portal at ssc.gov.in or via the 'My SSC' mobile app. No offline applications are accepted.
